These terms are the agreement between you and Milo ("we", "us") for using the Milo app and service. By using Milo you accept them. Please read the subscription section carefully — it is the part with money in it.
Milo teaches English and scores you on the words you can actually produce. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may not resell it, scrape its content, attempt to extract its lesson database in bulk, reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.
You can start learning anonymously. If you create an account, you are responsible for the sign-in you use to reach it. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it. You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account; that is permanent.
Milo is free to use. Milo Plus and Milo Max are optional paid subscriptions. They unlock unlimited hearts, unlimited Scene time (free accounts get a weekly allowance), and word-by-word pronunciation detail rather than a summary score. Max adds the largest usage allowances. The course itself, the lessons, the AI tutor and the coach are free to everyone and always will be — subscribing does not unlock them.
If a subscription ends, expires or is refunded, the paid features stop and the free app continues to work. Your learning history and your Active Vocabulary are never taken away from you.
Gems, hearts and streak freezes are a game mechanic with no monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred out of the app, or redeemed for anything outside it, and they may expire or be adjusted as the game is balanced. They are licensed to you, not sold.
Parts of Milo — the tutor, Scenes, the coach, some explanations — are produced by an AI model. It is usually right and sometimes wrong. Use it as a language-learning aid, not as professional, legal, medical or academic advice. Do not send it information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.
Milo offers IELTS, TOEFL, Business and Travel tracks. These are independent study materials. Milo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by IELTS, the British Council, IDP, Cambridge Assessment, ETS, or any other examining body, and we do not guarantee any exam score or result.
Do not use Milo to harass anyone, to post unlawful or abusive content into shared features such as friends and leagues, to cheat the scoring, to attack or overload the service, or to break the law. We may suspend or terminate an account that does. Where a score has been manipulated, we may reset it.
We will try to keep Milo running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change, and we may discontinue the service — if we discontinue it entirely, we will give notice and stop charging subscriptions.
Milo is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Milo is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer law gives you, and nothing here overrides it.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Milo. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Milo after that means you accept the new terms.
